User Data Deletion
You can ask us to delete the personal information Hex Settlers holds about you at any time. This page explains how, what gets deleted, and how long it takes. It applies to everyone, including people who signed in with Facebook or Google.
Guests (no account)
If you only played as a guest, you do not need to do anything. Guest rooms, display names, colours and game data are deleted automatically about 24 hours after the room's last activity. If you want a room's data removed sooner, email us with the room code and we will delete it.
Account holders (including Facebook and Google sign-in)
- Send an email to thorn@edgemn.com with the subject Hex Settlers data deletion request. Say which sign-in method you used (Facebook or Google) and the display name on your account so we can find it. Send the request from the email address on your account if you shared one.
- We may ask you to confirm the request so that nobody can delete someone else's account.
- We delete your account and associated data within 30 days of confirming the request and email you a confirmation code. You can quote that code to us later to check on the request.
What we delete
- your account record, including your sign-in provider user ID, display name and email address;
- your saved maps and rule configurations;
- your seats in games, and rooms you created that have no other players;
- the link between your Facebook or Google identity and Hex Settlers.
What may remain
- In shared games, other players may keep the results and public history of games you took part in; your name is replaced with "Deleted player" where practical.
- Security and operational logs are deleted on their normal schedule (a target of 30 days or less).
- Information we are legally required to keep, if any.
Removing Hex Settlers from Facebook
You can remove the app yourself in Facebook: open Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and websites, select Hex Settlers, and choose Remove. This stops Hex Settlers from receiving further information from Facebook, but it does not delete the data we already hold. To have that deleted, follow the account steps above.
Removing Hex Settlers from Google
Open your Google Account's Security page, go to Your connections to third-party apps & services, select Hex Settlers and choose Delete all connections. As with Facebook, this does not delete data already held by us; use the account steps above for that.
